The project operator, Greenweb Environmental Protection Center, was established at the beginning of 2015 as a non-profit organization in China’s mid-west. It aims to promote public awareness and participation on environmental issues, increase benefits of environmental policies, reduce industrial pollution, and improve environmental outcomes, by collecting environmental data, performing analysis, and putting them into practical application.

The Greenweb team has many years of experience in environmental data analysis, and is for the first time bringing its expertise to bear on river basin pollution problems in Guangzhou. The project funded aims to expedite the establishment of the team’s operation in the Pearl River Delta, in particular the building of a comprehensive environmental database, which focuses on data collection, data analysis, and applying these environmental data for public use by everyday households and industry producers.
